[...] New York born indie rock band, Longwave, was formed in 1999 by guitarist, songwriter and vocalist Steve Schiltz, guitarist Shannon Ferguson, bassist Dave Marchese and drummer Jeremy Greene. While some say their early music was influenced by shoegaze pioneers and post-punk icons, the current Longwave sound is very distinct, perhaps due to their numerous lineup changes over the years. Their most recent release, Secrets are Sinister, debued in November 2008 on Original Signal Recordings (the same label that supports the likes of Ingrid Michaelson and David Ford, whom we interviewed last year).
There's only one flaw with that whole argument in the interview: music is for enjoyment. Music is entertainment. People enjoy entertainment. People will always listen to the music that entertains them the most. The big media companies have figured out that formula to entertain the masses the easiest way. What's wrong with that?

For the rest of those (including myself) who enjoy more raw, more emotional, more real, better, music, then BRAVO David Ford, because you deliver.

Thanks for coming to Birmingham (AL). I loved your show. And great interview.

David Ford is a class act. He's extremely talented, Very cordial and Fan Friendly, but also keeps his boundaries as an artist intact and refuses to really get caught up in the Hullaballooo. He writes great songs and is a singer of the Highest order. Very intense. .... Great interview!

Great Interview. David Ford should be a role model for all of the aspiring artists out there. It is a new time in the music industry and it requires creative navigation.
